Forums

All forums will be uploaded in mid July 2009. For an insight in to the calibre and scope of the forums this year, the following were the 2 delivered at the event in October:

Forums were facilitated by content experts and provided participants with the opportunity to interact with other Business Intelligence professionals in a more intimate environment. Running from 9.00am to 3.30pm, the in-depth forums allowed participants to take away answers and a plan for their organisation.

1. SAP Financial and Human Resource Reporting - Aligning Your Financial Solution with Your Business Needs
  • Do you understand SAP's financial reporting strategy?
  • Do you believe that the "latest" is also automatically the "greatest" solution?
  • Do you find decisions for or against SAP solutions are easy?
This forum looks to address clarification of SAP financial reporting and delivery options. It is aimed at business representatives who are keen to understand what they can realistically expect from their SAP system. Those with a technical interest will also benefit from understanding how the functional side of financials works. The forum will provide guidance to understand the SAP alphabet soup and get practical advice for SAP decision making and risk assessment:
  • What are today's SAP financial reporting options and what needs are met by each of these tools?
  • What reporting comes standard with your SAP systems - and what should be customised and developed in-house?
  • Understand and compare the types of planning and budgeting solutions that SAP is offering
  • Where is SAP going - and who should follow?
  • What is "New G/L" all about? What are the risks?
  • Understand the implications of SAP acquiring Outlooksoft/Business Objects/Cartesis/ Pilotworks
  • What is SAP offering in terms of financial consolidation - and what's right for you?
  • Will upgrading to BI7 provide any benefits for Financial and HR Reporting?
This forum will provide a complete overview of SAP's R/3, BW (and recent acquisitions) budgeting and reporting tools as they relate to financial reporting. You will gain a big picture view of what is best for your environment and answer the ever present question of "what's in it for me?"

This one day forum is a chance for you to gain knowledge which will allow you to conduct a "health check" on some of your reporting processes and will provide guidance to conduct risk assessments and assist your decision making. It will enable you to look at your long term financial reporting requirements and develop a strategy to support this.
