Jumpstart Sessions

What is workflow and what can it do for you? Come see how workflow can be used to support the automation and monitoring of business processes with very little set-up. In under 30 minutes, we will create a basic but useful workflow. The presentation will include:
  • An overview of workflow capability
  • The essential steps to get you started
  • Live demo of building a basic but useful workflow
  • Enhancing the basic to provide even more value
  • The use of workflow wizards and a guide to testing a new workflow
Andrew Barnard - Solution Architect, AssetCentric Pty Ltd

JumpStart 2: Confucius Was Attributed With the Chinese Proverb "A Picture's Meaning Can Express Ten Thousand Words"

But if a picture is worth ten thousand words, how much is a video worth? And where would you store this video? The answer is in SAP's Document Management System (DMS) - the place you can store documents such as work instructions, inspection and isolation procedures, process and instrumentation diagrams, drawings, videos, photographs etc. And if all this is too hard, SAP has an "easy" DMS that can be used just like Windows Explorer and works as a front end to the SAP Document Management System. This jumpstart looks at SAP's DMS and discusses why you should look at the functionality available (it's free!) before you purchase a third-party application. Other highlights include:
  • How it integrates with the Enterprise Asset Management solution
  • Some of the file types you can store within it
  • How you link these files to the different objects in EAM
Frank Gysberts - Director, FG Consulting

JumpStart 3: Reporting and Analysis in an SAP Environment

Reporting and analysis are key components of any effective works or asset management system and SAP offers a wide array of functionality from the basic processing reports we use every day to the Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Objects environments. In this jumpstart, the aim is to give you a roadmap of what functionality is available, its suitability for various uses in the plant maintenance and asset management areas and its broad capabilities. We will also consider some aspects of setting up your basic asset and maintenance data and processes so that effective reporting to support your business objectives is achievable.
